Last Friday Tim left super early in the morning (like seriously early - 3:30. yikes) and headed to Panama to go deep sea fishing with his Dad & brother. Let me tell you, taking care of two little guys 24/7 is no joke. This Mama is exhausted! I'm lucky because they are really well behaved little guys, but this hasn't stopped me from thinking about all of the single parents out there. All of the parents who take care of their brood day in and day out without a partner to pitch in. These parents deserve medals!
Honestly I think if I were a single parent I would have to work. I adore being with my boys, but when you don't have any sort of a break it's tough. I think having Tim gone over the weekend made things feel a bit longer. That's when I usually get a break, so really it feels like I've been with them nonstop for well over a week. Timmy has been a bit hyped up too which has been extra fun. The second night that Tim was gone Timmy started acting like he was on a sugar high and 3 days later it hasn't subsided. I think someone misses their Daddy! Oh, and there have been some amazing car woes as well. Friday night someone broke into Tim's car, so the one break I got Saturday consisted of me sitting around for 3 hours in a really weird little glass shop getting his car fixed. Oh, and then today I go to move his now fixed car to the other side of the street b/c they're cleaning the street tomorrow and I didn't want him to get a ticket. Car won't start, car won't jump, it's totally dead. So I had to get it towed to the repair shop. I mentioned all of this happened to Tim's car right?!? Not mine! lol.
I know Tim is having an amazing time, and I feel fortunate to have such easy going little guys, but holy hell I'm tired!!! I wish I could say I was going to sleep in on Saturday, but we have an Easter breakfast to go to so that's shot. I will be getting a good long nap though. I can promise you that! Tim will be back late tomorrow night (hopefully before midnight!) so the end is near. Thursday night I anticipate some good old Daddy/Boy quality time on the agenda!
Alright - so if you're a single parent and reading this I worship you. Seriously. If you know a single parent I urge you to call them up and see if you can lend them a hand! (and speaking of giving them a break thanks to Grandma D for spending some time w/us while tim has been gone!)
ok... a few pics of the boys having a snack together at the playground today. Just for a cute fix!

LOL. I totally feel you on this post. My husband and I have worked opposite shifts for ever since we've had children (so almost 7 years now) and man, is it tough! When I am home from work, he is gone at work. We single parent it all the time now. It is totally exhausting! I have mad respect for them! BTW, the boys are freaking adorable!!!
